Last four digits of field in BEx query

I have a characteristic field having 8 values in the Cube.
Currently this values is used to calculate some logic in the end routine.
Is it possible to display only the last four values in the BW report, as we need to display only last 4 values in the report. Is it possible to write the below logic in bex level?

Cube:
Customer Number
12345678

BW Report requirement:
Customer No:
5678

[P14397410]

I don't know of a way to do that in BEx, but I have done it in workbook by using Excel formula. Neither clean nor elegant, so still looking for a solution to this problem.
