Hi All,
In CUA, I have 10 child systems that is connected to central client.
Suppose a user got locked in one of the child system, is it possible to reset pwd from central client?
Thanks and Regards, Pradeep
PS: I'm not talking about initial pwd.

All versions of CUA I have used ( 4.6 onwards) have the facility to reset the password in the child systems from the CUA master.

Hi Pradeep,
make sure, that you use the 'change password' button on the entry screen of SU01. If you use the 'normal' password field on the 'logon data' tab, this will reset the password only for the cua-master system itself.
If you use the button on the entry screen of su01, a popup will appear, where you can
a) define the new initial password
b) choose the system for wich this change should be performed
Make sure that the setting for initial password is set in SCUM to 'global' or 'everywhere' ('everywhere' is depending on supportpackage and release of your systems to work properly!).

You can reset the password from the central client as well as the Child client..
Initially you need to Unlock the user from the Central Client (CUA) and then you can globally change the password for all the Child systems or change the password locally for the individual systems for which the user was locked.

Read Pradeep's first post again.
Pradeep wants to reset the password from a central system but it should not have an initial state.
So, Pradeep wants to synchronize productive (non initial) passwords.
Most (but not all) discussions which start in this way, end up in shared user ID's as the cause...
Cheers,

good point....
I overread Pradeeps 'P.S.' too.
-->it is NOT possible to synchronize productive passwords.
-->passwords are transoferred only to CUA-child systems, if they are initialized
means, at password reset or creation of a user. These passwords will have the status initial then on the child system.

Hi guys,
First of all, I'm not a CUA expert, but I know how to use it. In my past experience with CUA, I have been able to reset passwords for individual child systems from the CUA master.
On my present assignment, the CUA implementation allows me to do a global unlock, but it won't give me an option to change the passwords of individual child systems. From CUA master, in SU01, if I hit the password reset button, where I'd normally expect to see a list of child systems from which I can highlight individual systems or select all, I instead see a regular password change box that appears to reset my CUA password.
Presently, my user ID in one of the child systems has been locked due to multiple incorrect logons and I'm trying to reset the password, but am unable to do so without having to go and ask someone else to do it for me.
Why is this the case?
Thanks,

Hi Sanatosh,
that sounds like if the settings in SCUM allow only local password resets.
Got to TX SCUM->logondata tab and change the setting from 'local' to 'global' or 'everywhere'. Save.
After that you should be able again to reset passwords from the CUA master for child systems.
I hope this will give the clue...
