TP connect error - after instance copy

Hi all,

Our client has so far one PAS (D01) and AAS (D02). I was told to configure another AAS as the copy of D02. Client make a copy D02 and install it on the third server. I've change configuration of /etc/hosts, changed destination /usr/sap/<SID>/D02 to /usr/sap/<SID>/D03 and when I start D03 everything is working fine. You can log in D03 and run any dialog|background process.

Unfortunately when the D03 is online client is not able to import any transports. TMS: check transport tool failed on the step DB connect: link to database failed:

On the OS level also R3trans -d is not able to connect to database:

[<sid>adm@server ~]$ R3trans -d This is R3trans version 6.13 (release 640 - 10.07.07 - 13:48:00). 2EETW169 no connect possible: "DBMS = ORACLE --- dbs_ora_tnsname = 'UHP'" R3trans finished (0012).

When I stop D03 everything works:-)

All system environments are the same as in D02 despite HOST, HOSTNAME and REMOTEHOST.

Could you please help me what else should be changed after the instance copy?

Hi Michal,

for the relevant ERROR in trace (ORA-00020) make a try to following note:

34432 - ORA-00020: maximum number of processes exceeded

539755 - ORACLE ERROR : Maximum Number of Processes(80) Exceeded

2087224 - ORA-00020 although the number of processes/sessions have been increased

Basicaly try first to increase the parameters 'processes' and 'sessions' by 50%.

For the R3trans test, please make sure you have the right Oracle Client (and the relevant Environment & Profile)
