SAP PO 7.4 to Amazon S3 Connectivity

Hi Experts,

The interface requirement is for SAP PO 7.4 to pick up the files from Amazon S3 bucket and send it to BW without any mapping (pass-through)

I've been checking the Sender REST adapter in SAP PO 7.4 to see if it can natively connect to the Amazon S3 bucket with the default attributes.

Can Amazon S3 just provide the URL which PI can use, including the authentication? (at this stage we have no option of purchasing the Advantco adapter for Amazon S3).

Thanks,

Madina

I guess REST adapter is free from SAP. Instead of Advantco, please use SAP provided REST adapter. Please try to contact with SAP once via Basis team whether REST adapter is free or B2B licensing is required.

    Thanks,

    Apu

    Hi Apu Das,

Yes we do have SAP PO 7.4 and we have REST adapter built-in. I am trying to know whether the REST adapter is enough to connect to the Amazon S3 bucket to get files from them.

Meanwhile we have asked the other party if it's possible for them to provide a REST URL instead...

Will update here once we land into a solution. Just wondering if anyone was in the same situation.

    Cheers.

Hello, did you ever find a solution for this? We are trying to do the same thing only in reverse. (Send file from SAP to Amazon S3 bucket via PI REST receiver channel.) Currently getting an error in the REST receiver "Precondition failed" Looking for hints to see if this S3 connection is possible with standard PI REST adapter & what the configuration should look like.

    Thanks!
