SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP 7.4 on SAP MaxDB [trial edition - SUSPENDED

When I try activate an instance I get a message saying that the status is in a "Suspended status" with the following reason.

Failed Operation Resume On Step Check the solution for expiration Message The activations of the solution have expired; you cannot activate the instance

How can I get this instance up and running again?
