Sales BOM item in debit memo

Hi Experts,

I am facing an issue while create debit memo with reference to invoice. BOM item is getting copied in debit memo from invoice. but my requirement is that we don't want sale BOM sub items with main item. when i am creating credit memo with same reference invoice then BOM sales item is not getting copied in credit memo. material, plant etc. are same but in case of credit memo its working find and in case of debit memo its not working. I checked copy control (VTAF) also, both are same. I am not able to under stand where is GAP. I request you please help on this.

Hi,

1. In VOV4, Item category determination would have been maintained for Debit Memo request which is determining the sub item based on higher level item category.Please remove that.
2. In VTAF, Please remove copy control setting for Sub items(Item category level). This should solve your issue.

Thanks your answer. I removed item category determination. now which item category i need to remove from copy control setting (VTAF).i mean the item category which is getting determined in debit memo for BOM subitem, does not exist in item category list of copy control. Please suggest.

Please Understand the logic behind Copy controls..in VTAF-what is source document and what is target document?

Always Source document header/item is needed to get desired changes...

Pl check source document item category in VTAF and try..

Hi,

In Billing document,please check Item category for Main item and for sub item.

Let's say:

Main Item category TAQ

Sub item category TAE

Copy control setting :

1.Source item category : TAQ and Target item category L2N

2.Source Item category : TAE and Target item category L2N .....You have to remove this setting.

I hope this should work fine afterwords.

Hi Kamlesh,

Thanks a lot for you help. My problem has been solved by this way.

There is field in higher level item category Structure scope under Bill of material/configuration data

where A - Explode single-level bill of material was maintained . because of that BOM sub item was getting explode at debit memo. I Maintained there Blank -Do not explode material structure and issue resolved 🙂
