Assertion failed while installing SAP BI Platform

Hi guys,

I am not really an SAP person. Pardon me if I sound silly.

Recently I had a requirement to install SAP BI in Windows server 2012 R2.

Following some links I installed SAP BI Client tool 4.2 SP05. Then I downloaded a 2 part installation zip, which on executing is giving the following error.

Please help me with this issue.

Two part installation files were -

BIPLATS4203_0-80001044_P1

BIPLATS4203_0-80001044_P2

If you're new to SAP BI Platform , maybe you should start with Installation Guide and Admin Guide, so you can get familiar with the software you're installing.

That error will occur when installing older software after installing BI4.2 SP04 or newer. What is the 2-part zip that you're trying to install now?

I think you have versions mixed up.

In your question you said you installed BI4.2 SP05 Client Tools.

At the end of your question you said you installed:

BIPLATS4203_0-80001044_P1

BIPLATS4203_0-80001044_P2

This is the installer for BI4.2 SP03 Server. But in your reply above you are now installing BI4.2 SP05 Server.

If you really do have BI4.2 SP05 Client Tools installed, you will not be able to install any BO software prior to BI4.2 SP04, due to the new compiler. You should be able to install BI4.2 SP05 Server (although I'm not sure if it's safe installing the client tools prior to server).
