How to create a complex produduction / warehouse layout

Hello,

our production output is stored in an structured warehouse (rack#/column#/row#) with chaotic stock keeping.

Therefore there is not only one outbound area. And for sure: if a material already resides in the warehouse, additional deliveries should be in the same place, if possible.

Is there any way to configure this in ByD? An example is attached.

Kind regards,

Klaus

Hello Klaus,

I have tried the following, which worked in my case. I set up replenishment rules for the production output logistics area:

Next I have defined the following destination determination rules for the same production output LOA:

It is important to use 'Material Driven'. As per the documentation the Material driven strategy is composed of the Fixed Bin strategy, the Last Used strategy, and the Empty Bin strategy. For your use case the last used strategy should apply. At least in my example it worked.

If you now create a removal task either by run or manually, the bin should be taken where the material was last put to.

An alternative way is to manually edit the replenishment task. When you open the value help for the removal task, there is a search type. If you use 'Addition to Stock', only LOAs will be in the result list, that have the same material already on stock.

Unfortunately, this search type is only available in the value help and not in the material flow rules for the destination LOA determination. Please feel free to create an improvement request to add this search type there.

Best regards,

Stefan
