Default printer not redirected in Crystal report viewer 8.5.0.217/Windows 2016 server

Hello,

My current application servers are running windows 2012 R2, When users connect to the servers via RDS to open Crystal to print a report, they are automatically redirected to their default local printer.

I installed Crystal reports on new Windows 2016 RDS servers. Users have noticed the print icon is grayed out in Crystal report viewer. To enable it, users have to manually select a server local printer called ''Microsoft Print to PDF" nevertheless, their workstation local printer is not redirected in the application

Other applications such as Word, Notepad or Wordpad redirect user default local printer correctly.

Is there a documented compatibility issue between Crystal Report 8.5 when using windows 2016 Servers?

Thanks In advance.

Jorge

Wow Jorge, CR 8.5 is documented to be End of Life 15 years ago.

Time to upgrade to CR 2016.

Oh, I should mention that to get both systems working in current versions you need to install the same Printer each User has installed locally on the app server.
