Equipment number tracking in REM scenario

Dear Experts,

How to track Component equipment numbers which are consumed in header Equipment number?

We have REM scenario which is I think very common in serialised assembly consumption.

for example I have Serialised Car as a final product and Component required to manufactured it also serialised like Engine , Gear Box etc.

I have created Equipment master (Synchronous with Serial number) for CAR, Engine & Gearbox.

so once Car get dispatched & in future i need to check Engine equipment number & Gear box Equipment number which are consumed in that CAR. what is standard methodology provided by SAP for such scenario?
