Can any one explain EDM / IDE Concept in ISU
why do we use them ?
Regards,
SAPCRM
Hello sap crm,
EDM stands for energy data management. It is especially useful for Utilities companies managing industrial customers which consume a lot of energy. EDM does real-time energy profiling, complex billing, such as real-time pricing or time-of-use pricing. It provides functionality for metering and measuring load shapes, settling energy quantities, managing schedules, billing interval customers, and more.
IDE stands for intercompany data exchange. This component is handling the deregulation aspect of Utilities industry. As you know in some countries, for example, Germany or Sweden, Utilities industry is deregulated meaning that distribution, transmission, generation of energy can be done by different companies so the customer can subscribe for company A which distrubutes energy, company B which generates energy. In this distributed model companies have to communicate between each other in order to deal with customers. This is where ISU IDE comes into game.
