SAP GUI 7.10 upgrade

Dear experts,

we are now using the SAP GUI as version 6.40, however it seems the support of version 6.40 for

windows is up to October 14th, 2008 as per Note 147519.

I have few questions Regarding the GUI version:

- what's the difference between 6.40 and 7.10 besides Windows Vista and

Netweaver support?

- will there be any problem if we gradually roll out 7.10 and have mixed clients during transition period?

- any concern if we still have 6.40 users after 10/14/2008?

Please let me know your views on the same.

Best Regards,

RR

There is no big difference - it´s possible that the users won´t even notice something.

We do a smooth transition also - each PC that is touched for some reason the GUI is installed. New PCs always get the 7.10 GUI.

You can continue to use the GUI 6.40 but in case of problems SAP can suggest to upgrade to 7.10 after that date instead of trying to find the error in the current GUI.
