Detailed Navigation displayed when 2nd level navigation is removed

I have a requirement where the second level of the top level navigation needed to be removed/hidden.

I did this by changing the property 'Number of Display Levels' from the Default Framework Page.

Now this works fine when a particular user only has one role i.e.. it automatically opens up the Overview page of ESS BUT when I have 2 or more roles assigned it does not open any iview and only displays the available pages on the 'Detailed Navigation' panel.

Does anybody know how I can get it to display the iview as it did originally?

    Wilkil,

You can do this in the role. i.e.

if u have ESS as top level and then Overview, payslip, Personal details as second level, go into the role and remove the ESS folder. Then this will only display Overview, payslip and personal details.

    Is this what u mean?

    Nick.

    Hi

In the Navigation property category, scroll to the Start at Level property and assign a value that is one higherthan the value of the Number of Display Levels property in procedure l. Configure Top-Level Navigation. For example, if top-level navigation is configured for one level, the detailed navigation begins on the second level, that is with the value 2.

From the Page Content List of the Desktop Innerpage, select the Content Area iView and click Properties. In the Navigation property category, scroll to the Number of Display Levels in TLN property and enter the same value as that of the Number of Display Levels property in procedure I. Configure Top-Level Navigation.

    regards

    • Thanks for your help but it's still the same,

This is what I have done:

      Top-Level Navigation

Portal Users --> Standard Portal Users --> Default Framework Page -->TopLevel Navigation --> Properties --> Number of dispaly Levels = 1

      Detailed Navigation

Portal Users --> Standard Portal Users --> Default Framework Page -->Desktop Innerpage --> Detailed Navigation --> Properties --> Start at Level = 2

      Display Levels in TLN

Portal Users --> Standard Portal Users --> Default Framework Page -->Desktop Innerpage --> Content Area --> Properties --> Number of Display Levels in TLN = 2

I can cheat and change the 'Entry Point' to yes on the workset and the page, but the role 'Entry Point' to No. but need it done properly.

Is there anything else I have missed out?

    Hi,

Did you set Number of Display Levels for detailed navigation to 2?

Check this to know, how to configure :

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/5a/33befa45ca7f459b24d0c5d51d0749/frameset.htm

Also set the property Clicking Folder Name Launches First Node to true in detailed navigation and check the behavior.
