Need to make characteristic value screen fields 'non-editable' in VA11

Hi All,

In my current project i need to make the characteristic value assignment screen 'non-modifiable'. This means i will have to change the characteristic value input fields disabled or not open for input type in VA11 transaction. I would like to know how can i achieve this. Is there any BADI or screen exit that i can use for my purpose. Pls explain in detail as i am not a functional person and neither have i worked on exits or BADI before.

Although it can be done functionally but according to our business requirement it has to be done technically.

Thanks Anbu,

But none of the enhancements were of possible help in my case. The characteristic value fields are still coming as input enable.

Any more suggestions from anybody..... pls....
