An error occured while retieving the universe in IDT

Hi,

I have installed Information Design tool on my laptop.

Information Design Tool 4.2
Build: 14.2.4.2505
Version: 4.2 Support Pack 4 Patch 2

Server and client patches are in sync.

When I click the Universe in development environment(Eg abc.blx), then a separate Information Design tool appears and I do not see any classes or objects.

And when I retrieve an universe from File-> Retrieve universe or from repository resources then I get the error messages as "An error occurred while retrieving the universe (IDT 02500)" and "Error while retrieving the universe null from the repository" (IDT 02500).

Please assist me in this regard.

Hello,

Cache for Information Design Tool (IDT) files …

1.Go to the directory :/Users/<user_name>/.businessobjects/bimodeler_14

2.Take a backup of the bimodeler_14 folder

3.Delete the bimodeler_14 folder

4.Login into Information Design Tool

5.Create a new project folder and retrieve the universe from CMS

I hope this will help.

Thanks,

Sonet

Is this issue happening for all the universes or one universe? May be the universe was not imported properly.

All the universes are unable to retrieve on my machine. But I could able to retrieve the universes on another machine.

Based on that - there is a firewall between your machine and the BOE server (or some other network issue).
You should check with your IT department and show your BOE admin the Working with firewalls section of the Admin guide.

I resolved by removing the folder “bimodeler_14” from the location C:\Users\jdaulagx\.businessobjects
