Serial Number System Status

When using a movement type (981) the serial number status is not being updated.

When the serial number is introduced in the outbound delivery the status changes (from ECUS to ECUS EDEL), but when the goods receipt is created, the status doesn't change and it should change into ESTO.

Does any one know what it's missing in customization off this material movement type?

You have two statuses for Serial number, one is the system status and another is the user status. The syatem status will be updated by the system only and you can't change it. When the serial number is assigned to delivery the status will change to EDEL (assigned to delivery), once you receive it into stock it should be changed to ESTO (In stock), but here you are using a movement type which is not standard. I don't think the system will consider this movement tyep while updating the status of the serial number.

Could you please let us know why this novement type is defined and why it is used for?
