Hello,
We have a productive IDM 7.1 in our landscape.
We are in the process of implementing IDM 8.0. Since a direct upgrade is not possible and also we wanted to update our Windows Platform.

In 7.1 the SAP provisioning framework brought in System Type Specific tasks like ProvisionABAP, DeProvisionABAP, and ModifyABAP etc. I had created copies of these tasks for each of the ABAP systems in the landscape and set up such that when MX_HCM_SYSUNAME is created the ABAP Provisioning tasks are triggered
______________
in 8.0 I have imported the packages - and I do see the com.sap.idm.connector.abap package has Create User and Modify User processes. Is this equivalent to the ProvisionABAP task in 7.1 or am I missing something.

I did not find any Tutorials like we had with 7.1. Can someone please provide some guidance.
Hi there,
So as you've seen there are a few differences between the way that 7.1 works and 8.0 🙂
The short answer is that the IDM Provisioning Framework has changed quite a bit, and as you have observed, now works through the package concept. The packages are an evolution from the 7.2 Framework, which moved away from the System Specific type tasks to a more evolved framework that used "hooks" to trigger various Identity Life cycle events / actions.
The long answer is, you have a bit of reading (and maybe training) to do. You might want to start here: https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/Security/SAP+Identity+Management+8.0+Documentation

Thanks Matt. Yes going through the course, looks like there are no generally available tutorials for the 8.0 version like we had for 7.1/7.2.
Thanks
