    hi,

    Remote Function Call:

RFC is an SAP interface protocol. Based on CPI-C, it considerably simplifies the programming of communication processes between systems.

RFCs enable you to call and execute predefined functions in a remote system - or even in the same system.

RFCs manage the communication process, parameter transfer and error handling.

    Hi Shrama,

RFC is nothing but same as Functional module. But here you select Remote insted if normal in SE37.

Ex: SRM po Contain the CLD number. All po details maintained in R3 except CLD number. Now yopur download the report for SRM Po's in R/3. in that time you have to create the RFC FM in SRM. and IN the R/3 progrma you can use the SRM FM and codeas

    Call function XXXXXXXX destination C_DEST.

Before calling the RFC FM you need to configure in SM59.

If this inputs is useful for you , please give the Rewards points.

Hi you can find a lot of information on RFC and about RFC ... let me explain one scenario in which I used RFC..

to calculate tax, generally some clients use vertex which is an external system.. so when ever a PO or Sales order is created the tax will always be calculated based on that external server.. so using some RFC FM I used to hit the Vertex server thru RFC FM and get the tax and post it in SAP system..

    hey there,

well in brief rfc is :

A remote function call is a call to a function module running in a system different from the caller's. The remote function can also be called from within the same system (as a remote call).

RFC consists of two interfaces : A calling interface for ABAP Programs and a calling interface for Non-SAP programs.

You can use the CALL FUNCTION statement to call remote functions by including an additional DESTINATION clause.

    CALL FUNCTION u2018remotefunctionu2019

    DESTINATION dest

    EXPORTING f1 =

    IMPORTING f2 =

    TABLES t1 =

    EXCEPTIONS

The field u2018destu2019 can be either a literal or a variable. Logical destinations are defined in the RFCDES table via transaction SM59 or via the menu path: Tools ->Administration,Administration->Network->RFC destinations.

for durther info try searching fior rfcs in the help.sap.com site

and even sdn.sap.com is also helpful for this particular topic...

    take care...

    reward points if useful 😊
