Hi Gurus
Can we do WBS element cost planning (CJ40) for a plan version with an excel upload for multiple projects? If this can be done, can anyone please guide me through the process?
Your help will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
could you provide me any data on this issue.
thanks,
abhinay.

Thanks for your help. This looks great.
But, the problem is, the blog tells me about how to upload WBS element planning (CJR2). But, I want to enter planned costs (don't want to do the planning) under a plan version for WBS elements (CJ40). So, can you please help me in how to adopt a similar process for updating CJ40 values for a Project?
Your help will be really appreciated!!!
Thanks,

Thanks for your reply.
This sounds like a viable option. But, for us, the requirement is not one time. We are trying to make the end-user work simple. They do planning in different system and have their costs in Excel sheet. Now, they want to save them under a plan version in SAP with CJ40.
But, manually going to CJ40 would be a lot of work for them because they have lot of WBS elements in the excel dump. And for the end users, either LSMW or "custom transaction" doesn't work.
So, can you please let me know if there is any option to do this in standard SAP?
Again, thanks for your help and time.
As replied by Varshal above, use SHDB to record a macro and have your ABAPer read the excel sheet and input values from the excel sheet into the Macro. Your users will input the excel file (in a predefined format) to your ABAPer's custom program (via a custom transaction if required) to do CJ40 planning (the program does it for all the WBS elements reading it from the excel sheet by performing CJ40 with the proper values each time for each year/overall as you choose when recording the macro).

Venkat.
Hi,
I have never tried excel upload to CJ40, so was not able to answer ur query earlier. It have found a document which seems to support claims made by others here.

Can you elaborate on OTS?

Hi,
To do Costing from Excel Sheet once, pls find the following T- Codes.
First step: KJH2 - Group WBS Elements.
Second : CJR2 -> Enter Verion, Period, WBS Group & Click "Form Based" -> Click Overview screen(F5)
Here, you will get an excel sheet, enter costs as per the GL codes & Save.
Reward points if useful.

Deepa
