Mask confidential field values without hindering the report key figures/output

We have a problem statement where I am looking for simpler/better solution, user requirement is to have a replica of existing report with same set of functionalities and fields but we got to mask a particular field XYZ for handful confidential values in report so that users dont get to know them when they drill down/across. However the key figures against XYZ should be available for reporting.

Example: If one value for XYZ is 123 (key) and test (text) haing revenue £100 against it, both key and text values for 123 should be masked as confidential but the revenue should be shown as £100.

To make it more tricky in our case there are two such fields in report, XYZ (Standalone) and XYZ1(navigational attribute of ABC) we need both of them to be masked

As a possible solution we have below options but all of them seems not suitable, Please let me know if there is a simpler approach -

- Creating virtual chars in query designer and populating the data via CMOD/BADI: This seems like a solution but will have a impact on query performance and in our case there are two fields which need to be masked (one standalone field and other navigational attribute) which makes it tricky

- Creating replica fields and masking them part of routine: Our report is built on 7 info providers and we are likely to capture more than 30 objects (all part of critical path) if we are to make two new fields available for reporting. I felt it was not worth risking the objects for such small change

- Authorization object: We can make the object authorization relevant and use them for masking by creating a new role, publish this report and assigning folks against it. But this again will not show key figures against masked XYZ field

Are there any better solutions with BW on HANA?

Thanks
