Hello!

Yesterday they were still here, now not anymore: suddenly the templates are gone!

All of them, not only the ones created by me.

Any idea?

Thanks!

Regards,
Vlad

P.S. I had a similar problem with vanishing bookmarks (see this question) but got no answer yet.

The templates were gone yesterday and are here again today! :-/

This doesn't exactly build a lot of confidence in the software…

Vlad,

This is the reason why I was checking with you whether you are working on a Test environment or a LIVE environment where we can expect the system to be stable.May be Eclipse is still evolving ?

Hi, Kiran!

I'm using Eclipse on the Development SAP Server of ours. This is stable.

I suppose that the Eclipse templates are stored locally on my machine.
If this is correct than my problem had nothing to do with the server but only with the installation of Eclipse on my PC.

Glitches like this are not the end of the world for sure.
Nevertheless I do hope that Eclipse is still evolving :-)…

Vlad

Hi Vlad,

the templates that are displayed in the view are linked to the editor in focus. So in case the editor does not have templates the view is empty.

But I think in your case you had the ABAP editor in focus. In that case the templates should work.

There is a template setting available in the eclipse preferences. Maybe you can check the settings.

Regards,

Thomas.

Hello, Thomas!

The editor - and with it the templates - is linked to the project and not to the specific program / class / etc. where I was in the moment I create the template, right?

Vlad

Hi Vlad,

the templates are independent from the project. There a unique for all projects. But they have a filter capability built in that it only shows content when an ABAP editor is in focus. For example for DDIC there are no templates and that means that when DDIC Editor is open no templates are shown.

Regards,

Thomas.
