By-product production and inventory

Dear all,

In standard business scenario we produce one item from one input and scrap is generated which goes to its respective storage location while given production order confirmation through CO15.

Because of development in the production process, we are able to get two products from the same BOM material in the production order. How is such type of scenario to be mapped and also guide on the costing part of the same.

Here the by-product generated can be individually sold with carrying out the balance activites.

Kindly help on this scenario as it is a challange for us.

hi buddy plz simplify ur scenario

according to my understaanding u just have to create the second material as a byproduct and have to define that in bom

by doing this u will get stock of by product will be come to ur required location and from there u can sold it indivisually

Dear Kunal,

In this scenario the by-product is not our routine production and it has been developed by some design changes. What my understanding goes is that the by-product will be entered with negative sign in BOM similar to the scrap generated.

Now system will take 531 mvt type and the account posting will go to Scrap GL which is configured now. But i want this accountig posting to go to Semi finish product GL. How can it be done and also suggest if it is correct or not.

Hi,

You can take by products in to your premises using MB!B 542 mov type or using MB1C 531 mov type.

What i understand in your word is you want to change the GL account posting.

Go to OBYC and select the GBB and select the VNG Modification key replace the Scrap GL account with Semifinsihed GL account.

The by product is not going for Quality inspection.

The BOM of such items have been changed and the by product is been produced during production.
