We have a costing BOM which contains some Parts which are marked as Phantom Assemblies. We don't need these as part of costing but need them for production purpose so have to maintain them as part of BOM. I tried taking out the costing relevancy and flag them as Do not cost in the material master costing view but still system is looking for assembly of the Phantom and give me issues. Does any one know why costing relevancy is not ignoring the item in the CK11N? Is there some other way i can make this happen?

Found an OSS note. Looks like Std. SAP does not consider costing relevancy indicator for Phantom Assembly part numbers. SAP provided an alternative solution in note 131733. Below is the note explanation

If product costing should consider the indicator for relevancy to costing of the phantom assembly you can override the special procurement key from the MRP view in the costing. In Customizing create special procurement type 99 'In-house production for costing' with procurement type 'E' and special procurement 'E'. Enter this special procurement key in the costing view of the material master. Caution: If you use this special procurement key, the costing view no longer considers the assembly a phantom assembly. This can cause unwanted variances within the variance calculation.
