Where is the WebI community ?

Hello ,

I'm the Product Manager for the product "SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence" (WebI).

I can't find anymore the community related to my product. And this is really anoying as it is one of the most active in the area of SAP ANALYTICS.

Please, could you indicate me where and when this one will be back for my customers?

(Moreover, the "SAP primary tag" associated to my product doesn't make any sense from a product perspective).

Please, who should I contact to get things back ?

Thanks and regards,

Gregory

Agree to Tammy. I am an active member and contributor of SCN and was supposed to be available 16+ hrs in a day, but since the GUI changed its difficult for me to concentrate and find my areas of interest. I understand that we should move towards whats trending but should keep in mind that a huge count of techies are a part of SCN and we should think in a way.

I think the dropping number of questions and blogs specifically for Webi forum is indicating that.

Niraj

Thanks Kudeep.

I got it also. The sad thing is it doesn't help my customers. The refrences to WebI you can find are the following entry:

1/ "SAP Knowledge Acceleration, version for SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence" but it's a different product from "SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence".

2/ You can find the tag "SBOP Web/Desktop Intelligence" but it is confusing and not a product.

I agree with you. I miss the old SCN forum, the new GUI doesn't seems to be that interesting as SCN used to be. Rather it is too confusing. The content search and exploring different technology area was so much simple earlier.

Even today, there was a blog titled "Community bye bye" . People who were active contributor to this forum are now going away. What I feel is they should have upgraded the system with all the functionality we had in the SCN. Even the activity on the community space have dropped drastically.

Hoping the situation would change in near future.

If SAP's own people can't find things using this new format, what makes them think customers can?

Hi Greg,

I agree, there should be a community called Webi (or Webi/Deski), and Semantic Layer (or IDT/UDT).

I've been using the tag SBOP Web/Desktop Intelligence (client/server) for questions & answers or blogs related to Webi/Deski and they show up in the below pages. I got used to Webi and Deski merged as one (as Semantic Layer is another example which includes IDT and UDT)

Webi/Deski - Q&A

Webi/Deski - Blogs

Thanks,

Mahboob Mohammed

Hi Tammy,

Thanks.

I will contact Brian in another thread. I thought the current one was for internal questions (my mistake, and my apologyzes) and not something public.

Nevertheless, this being done, I'm curious to get feedback from the WebI community on what we should fix as a minimum :

1/ get back a "SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence (WebI) Community", distinct from the "SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform Community"

2/ get back a "SAP BusinessObjects Semantic Layer (UDT/IDT) Community", distinct from the "SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform Community"

3/ get right the tags :

-- "SBOP WEB INTELLIGENCE (WEBI)" and "SBOP DESKTOP INTELLIGENCE (DESKI)" (listed in the "SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence (WebI) Community")

-- "SBOP SEMANTIC LAYER (UDT/IDT)" (listed into the "SAP BusinessObjects Semantic Layer (UDT/IDT) Community")

What do you think ?

GB:

I would go with all 3. Web Intelligence was a busy space on old SCN, and Semantic Layer was fairly busy too. These target different users than the current BI platform tag.

This should be helpful, I can find the actual blog. This is the link to the excel sheet containing link to all the tags available:

http://sapassets.edgesuite.net/tools/SAP-Community-Tags.xlsx

Found it very useful for the new community navigation.
