Hello,
My customer has a foreign parent, and a 2-letter prefix in front of all American part numbers / SKU's tells the parent company that these are parts for America. When moving into SAP master data, how can these 2 prefix letters be retained, hopefully without a cross-referencing table that then needs to be maintained every time an SKU is superceded, discontinued, or a new part number introduced? Is there any way to display the 2-letter prefix to the parent company without it having to "live" as the first 2 digits of the part number in the item master file?
Thank you,
Richard
Hi, if it's just about displaying (adding / removing some characters to the MATNR), you can check BAdI BADI_MATN1.
Nevertheless, I'd recommend adding the prefix to the material ID (MATNR) also on DB to avoid clashes (MATNR USABCD from non-US vs. ABCD from US being displayed also as USABCD).
Regards, Ingo Bruß
