Hi friends ,

When I execute a Query in Bex 7.0 , and after the selection screen pops up , I dont see the technical name of the query , but just the title of the report on the Selection criteria screen , I didn't find any relevant info over the forums on the same . And the same issue appears to happen with work books also .

Any inputs or relevant notes ..will be highly appreciated.

thanks in advance ,

hi,

you can find the technical name in THREE ways.

1) in the Query Designer in the right hand side properties window> general> you can see the description and technical name of the query and the data target as well.

2)When you execute a query, on the pop-up dialog box for variable selection, you should see Data Provider and it should show the technical name of the query not the description.

In the selection screen for the query itself (selecting a query), make sure to check the 'Display key and text' - the little hammer wrench icon to display the key or the text to display the technical name.

3) go to transport connection select query elements>select query>search your query-->drag and drop to the right hand side you will find the technical name next to collected objects and transport check box.

plz assign points if helpful
