How to merge columns when exporting crystal report to excel?

I have a header and below that header, I've three columns. I want to merge the header across three columns shown as below.

But when I export crystal report to excel, Main heading appears in one cell over the first column shown as below.

In crystal I'm using guidelines and ruler and have no gap between my fields as shown below, but it's not helping.

I'm new to crystal. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    What you have done should work

    When you export to Excel trying changing the Export Options. I do not have Crystal open but there is a option to base cells on different sections of report. Try selecting whole report instead of section where your Col1,2 &3 data is defined.

      Thank you for your feedback. You are right. I changed the excel option and it worked.
