Connection Between Developer studio and local J2EE engine.....

Hello all,

Need your help.

We have ECC 6.0 Installed with ABAP+JAVA.

To setup a development infrastructure I have installed NWDI by downloading

SP15 for DI COMPONENT BUILD SERVER 7.00

SP15 for DI BUILD TOOL 7.00

SP15 for DI CHANGE MGMT SERVER 7.00

and deployed using SDM locally.

Also Installed NW Developer studio locally and tried to connect to the J2EE server.

By giving the Host name and Message server port number in

Windows -> Preferances -> J2EE Engine menu

problem is

If I check the SAP J2EE engine is installed on local host and try to browse

It dose not show any locally installed J2EE server.

I have edited local host file with the IP and host name

and tried the remote host option by giving host name and port number.

but it gives my following error.....

Deployment Exception: Cannot determine sdm host(is empty). Please configure your engine engine/sdm correctly!

Appreciate your quick response.

    Hello Guys ....

My problem has been resolved ...

    Answer was:

Select the Window -> Preferences -> SAP J2EE Engine

If J2EE server is remote check the "SAP J2EE engine installed on remote host" and provide host and message server port. (for an example : 3601)

    Check message server port here:

    *<drive>:\usr\sap\<instance name>\JC<ID>\j2ee\cluster\instance.properties as "instance.ms.port" property.*

If locally check the "SAP J2EE engine installed on local host". Click the "Browse" and select instance.

    ....

    Cheers
