Getting rid of old System DSNs

Former Member

I do not have admin rights on my workstation. Someone else has to come and run the odbcad32.exe "As Admin" so I can make changes to the System DSNs.

Somebody, in their infinite wisdom, decided to make us change our userids on the target system. So we created a new System DSN with the new username & password.

The problem is... every time I open the report, it reverts back to the original "connection". I've tried deleting the System DSN and re-creating it; no good. I've tried deleting the connections from "Database Expert", but it won't let me unless I close the report, create a blank report with no connection, and then delete the "connection".

But as soon as I open the original report again, it creates the connection all over again.

What am I missing? Thanks.

Deleting connection in Database Expert would not help as it is just a History of all connections.

I think you need to open the original report,

Click Database > Set Data Source Location and update the report to new connection

Then save the report.

It should take care of the problem.
