Dear gurus

I need to query employee start date and use it to calculate a wagetype in my PCR. I have tried using operation PPPAR E but employees who join the business on the first day of te payroll period are not considered.

Can you help me out on what other operation to use. We are not using infotype 41. I have also used operations like OUTWPMASSN as suggested on the forum and some other operations without success

Thanks in advance

Please look at the documentation on Payroll Operation NUM or AMT, under "6 places operand Operands for NUM, RTE, AMT", then under "2nd Variant: Table Fields", and then under option F "Date Specifications". You will then find that A and B can be used to query "First entry from infotype 0000", and there is an example given of that use.

Also, there are many many Discussion Threads on this subject posted on this site and others. Please do a little research online.

Dear Remi,

Thanks for the response.

Yes you are right that there are many discussion threads on the subject which I had researched online before posting my question, unfortunately I just didn't get to solving the issue with the responses I got. I probably didn't do the right thing.

I will research on what you've posted and try it out.

Thanks again

Hello Remi,

I have gone through the documentation however I discovered that this will work if I need to calculate number of days spent from start date (if I am correct). This is not really what I need to query the start date for. To be explicit, the requirement is if any employee was hired on during the month of any current payroll period, a particular wagetype he is entitled to should be multiplied by the number of months remaining in the year to get the annual figure of that wagetype.

An example will be if I am running payroll for period 01.02.2018 - 28.02.2018 and an employee's start date in business is 01.02.2018, then his annual computation for that wagetype should be xxx*11months to make his annual figure. This is why I was going to use PPPAR E operation but it won't consider employees with start date as first day of month

Thanks in advance of additional help

Do you have monthly Payroll Periods?

What should happen if the current Payroll Period is February 2018 and the employee was hired in February 2016?

Do you use Time Evaluation?

Dear Remi,

Sorry I didn't get your response in my mail updates so I wasn't aware you had responded to my comment. I just checked the site now and saw you had. Please see the responses to the questions you asked.

  • Do you have monthly Payroll Periods?

Yes we do have monthly Payroll Periods

  • What should happen if the current Payroll Period is February 2018 and the employee was hired in February 2016?

Since the employee was not hired in the current Payroll Period February 20118, the annual figure of that wagetype should be Monthly*12. It is only otherwise if the employee is hired in the current payroll period, then the annual figure should be monthly*remaining number of months in the year from the current payroll period

  • Do you use Time Evaluation?

No we are not using Time Evaluation

Thanks
