Hi,

Trying to read cost center from Asset master for deriving Fund center using function module FMDT_READ_MD_ASSET. Its not reading cost center from asset master when I am doing test run. Don't know what I miss in settings. We are using FM (BCS) since 1 year for Opex only. Now management want to use FM for Capex also. We are using only GL & Cost center for budgeting in FM. Do I need to carry out any other customization for Capex.

Why Functional Module FMDT_READ_MD_ASSET is not working.

Regards,

Alok

Hi,

How do you know that cost centre is not read? It is not clear from your screenshot. You can use this module bringing cost centre to a user field (USERTEMP1) and then you would need another rule which will, based on the value of this field, derive the fund centre.

Eli

Please find the screen shot of log in testing derivation. Its source cost center is showing empty, but in asset master we have filled cost center. Also I want to know why there is need for user defined field. Why fm is not deriving cost center directly to field "COST_CENTER" from asset master.

That's normal... you don't 'derive' cost centre with FMDERIVE. It can be used only as a source. So, you use function module to 'find' it deriving it from the asset, and the second rule would use this value to derive fund centre.
