SET UP TABLES

Hi ,

I have some confusion in setup tables and job control concept.

Suppose i am filing a setup tables at 10-06-2008 at 5.00PM for 2LIS_04_P_MATNR and it contains 1000 records. my understanding is this is Init or for full load.

But if i want to do a delta for this datasource , i go to LBWE and job control and schedule job for every hour and question here is what is the selection date and time?>

because i am filling the set up tables at 10-06-2008 at 5.00PM. Means then i need to give the starting time as 10-06-2008, 5.00PM in job control?.

Hi,

This is for initializing the delta. The delta will be based on whatever records you use to fill the setup tables. You can also do full loads using the setup tables.

Once your datasource is active and delta ready, whatever transactions users will post will start accumulating in the extractor queues. The job control is for sending those records from the extractor queue to the delta queue for extraction to BW.

You can put any start time. The job will start at that point of time. You have to schedule it periodically though.

Hi Patil,

I am missing again!. Sorry for this.

Set up tables gets filled from the R/3 base tables. say there are 1000 records on 10-06-2008 by 5.00PM. i have loaded those 1000 as init load to the BW. after that in R/3 tables say 10 records are added on 11-06-2008. once i activate the Jobcontrol and start date as 12-06-2008, then it will bring those 10 reocrds which are posted on 11-06-2008?

Please clarify.

Yes it would bring them as delta records.

Here there are 3 things:

1) Filling setup tables that you are doing manually for Initial load..

Once the initialization is done the marker is set for further delta update...

Now the 10 records that you are talking about go into the Extraction queue first which is TCODE: LBWQ

From LBWQ job control has to move these 10 records to the delta queue which is RSA7..

Only when these 10 records are moved to RSA7 then you would be able to load these records to BW.

Recap:

there are 3 data containers : Setup tables, Extraction queue (LBWQ) and Delta queue (RSA7)

Job control moves the data from LBWQ to RSA7

And BW pulls the delta records from RSA7
