Header description of a table is showing a '+' in SM30 not the description

Hi guys,

we have created a table zmert, but in SM30 the header description is not showing... instead a plus sign is showing...

what's wrong?

The data element behind that field does not have texts maintained (or there is no reference to a data element).

How am i going to maintain text for the data element? Or how would I know that the data element has no reference field? Thanks a lot!

In SE11,

1. Go to Utilities-> table mainta. generator, select the screen,

2. go the layout,

3. add ur text to the field.

Look at your table ZMERT in SE11...column "data elements" must have an entry for each field. If there's fields without data elements, these will show with a "+" in SM30.

Proceed as Ravi said.

Hi,

That is because the descriptions of the fields have not been maintained in the table.

Either you have not filled up the field-labels in the data element of the fields or you have used fields without data element.(basic data type)

Enter the field-labels in the data element.

After entering the field-labels in the data element, re-generate the table maintenance.

Can re-generate as:

Utilities->Table Maintenance generator

press the change button

click expert mode button

select all then enter & save

First of all check if the data element you have used , have field label or not. If not we need to maintain it , field label is ultimately displayed on maintenance screen. we can do this by double clicking on the data element and the adding field label in all Short, Medium, Long, Heading.

Once you are done with field label for data element go to utilities then the table maintenance generator and click on change icon then we need to give the reason of change we choose create maintenance screen. once we are done with this , activate the whole table again.
