Hi All ,

We are using sap PI 7.3 dual stack system service pack 9 i need to configure email alerts for message failures for ICO in our system .

I am aware like using ALERTCATDEF we can create alerts for classical scenarios in sap PI and using ALERTRULE in ID we can create alerts for failure of ICO scenrios .

But i could not find and ALERTRULE option in my ID ,can you please suggest me how we can create alerts for ICO in SAP PI 7.3.

Can we configure alerts for ICO failures using ALERTCATDEF?

Hello Mahesh,

Please check the following parameters:

1. Use transaction SXMB_ADM to configure Integration Engine, and check if the parameter ALERTING_TARGET to 1.

2. Use SAP NetWeaver Administrator ( Start of the navigation path Configuration Next navigation step Infrastructure Next navigation step JAVA System Properties Next navigation step Services: XPI Service: AF Core End of the navigation path), and set the value of the alerting.target service property to 1 and alerting.isActive (value true).

Then please check if you can find the alert rule in ID.

some document is for your reference:

Hi Liz,

Thanks for your inputs i tried to configure the parameters as suggested but unfortunately i am not able to find the both parameters in SXMB_ADM and in NWA.

Can you please suggest how we can add the parameters.

Hello Mahesh,

I can see the alerting.isActive is already set to Ture in NWA, it is OK now.

For sxmb_amin, you need create the parameter ALERTING_TARGET and set it to 1 as follows:
