Hi experts,
I am currently working as a ABAP developer.I am more interested in BI.But at present I heard a news that SAP will replace the BI with BO.
So please guide me whether BI is needed to learn BO.Else I can directly learn BO with out BI.
Give some materials related to BO.
Warm Regards,
Sakthi
Hi,
You need to concentrate more on the reporting part of BO and ETL part of BW. The future will see the integration of BI ETL with BO front end tols.

Hi,
Check the link below y SAP bought BO:
http://www.techsupport.businessobjects.com/Enterprise6/bi_platform_brochure.pdf
The main reason is there is no much of analytical capability in SAP BI so this feature was available in BO.So SAP bought BO,to stay competetive in the global market.

Hi,
Yes its true that SAP has brought over BO last year. But wont be replaced completly by BO because BI is strong at all three levels like Extraction, Modelling and Reporting. But when it comes to Reporting layer
the look and feel of Reports will as just in a Excel sheet with add-on components. But when you look at BO reporting tool the look and feel is so good. So SAP is trying to integrate both the features of BI & BO so that the features will be more benifited to the end user. But SAP is also going to support the BO tool seperately is requested by the clients. So you dont need to worry about shifting in to BI. As the demand will be more for BI consultant because of the increasing demand for OLAP tools.
All the best.
Assgins points if helpful.
regards,
Ram
