Dear Sir,

We are going to implement SAP HANA in our organization. We want to know the hardware and networking structure. Our existing hardware and networking scenario is as follows:-

1. We had HP DL380 G9 server which act as RDP Terminal server. We are managing 300 thin-clients through the server. Our thin-clients are entry level think clients.

2. Our server is connected via 1GB network switch.

3.Our organization is not located in one premises, we had different location which are at the distance of 6 to 8 km from our server location. For that we had use RAADWIN wireless modem with 20Mbps speed using line of site.

4. We are using 100Mbps switch at every end location to access the thin-client.

Now we want to know what hardware and networking structure to be implemented in our organization for better performance of SAP HANA. Can we continue on this existing hardware and networking structure or what we can make modification in this existing scenario.

We will be thankful if you assist us asap.

Hello

If you want to learn about HANA sizing please check;

https://www.sap.com/uk/products/hana/implementation/sizing.html

https://blogs.sap.com/2017/03/07/the-ultimate-guide-to-effective-sizing-of-sap-hana/

Other than server itself, for end users I think it will be better install Eclipse with SAP HANA Tools into your terminal server (https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/) and if needed SAP GUI and/or NWBC. Clustering terminal server will benefit you too.

Also don't forget to adjust your Antivirus and Firewall settings according to required HANA ports and folders. (1730930 - Using antivirus software in an SAP HANA appliance)
