dear prasad,

Since which ERP release have you been using Screen design ?

If you have had a look at R/3 4.6C then you will know that it was very diffcult to use Screen Design throuhg common elements unless you are very much used to designing.

Moreover the Graphical Screen work only when you have a broadband based internet connection where in you are connecting to SAP Server.

If you are opearting through a Firewall based Internet connection where security is of utmost importance and also on VPN networks you can some times not open Graphical Editor.

So then you must have to revert back to the old generation screen editor which you must get familiarised with.

So to ease people from transforming to the textual based screen designing to Graphical based screen desgin to move ahead through technology SAP has designed Graphical Screen Editor.

So hope this helps you out.
