Parameter Changes in R/3 for implementing BI

We have a BW QA Server connected to a R/3 QA Server.

Please let me know the parameters and their values required to be changed in R/3 System when a BI Server is connected to R/3 Server especially for rdisp/max_wprun_time

Just wanted to clearify one thing.

The data transfer between R/3 and BI is done via background jobs.

Background jobs can run for a long time and are not dependent on work process run time.

It could be the case that you need more background processes.

If so, you should make sure that you have more Dialog processes than Background + Update + Enqueue (E g more than 50% of the processes should be Dialog processes) otherwise you can run into an deadlock situation.

This has nothing to do with the BI connection and is a more general system rule (so it counts for both R/3 and BI).

You do not need to change any parameters in order to connect BI to R/3.

When you begin to work with BI you might notice performance problems. That is the time to check the parameters.

It could be parameters for max number of RFC-connections, runtimes etc, but it is difficult to say what parameter values you need since I do not know what you are trying to do with your BI.
