Prospect is either a person or org or group who shows interst in your product or service. He may be a potential customer also.

you can create the bp with the role prospect in bp creation in master data.

In the transaction oppt you will enter the bp as a prospect the system automatically takes the same bp as a sold to party in the follow up traction ag or ta etc. you need not extend the bp role to sold to party

best wishes

Hi Sudeep,

According to company target segment who ever fall or meet those criteria, those person or company or group are prospect for that company.

When you want to capture those prospect in to the system you have to create those business partner in prospect role untill the to opertunity level the bp will be as prospect after based on the qualification level of oppertunity it becomes sold to party.

Hi,

In simple terms Prospect is a Business Partner, company's sales team is pursuing to convert him/her as a new customer. In SAP CRM new customer acquisition can start as a result of campaign or through identifying a lead. Once a lead is qualified it becomes a prospective customer and is identified as prospect. In some of the businesses, the sales cycle is longer wherein you have to pursue the prospect over a longer term to convince him/her to buy your company's products and also you need to perform several activities for that. Opportunity transaction is used for the purpose and one of a main relevant Business Partner in this case would be the Prospect that you are pursuing.

Once the prospect shows interest in buying your product and requests offer/quotation for the company's products Prospect becomes Sold-to-party in SAP even though the prospect has not yet bought the product.

Deepak

Hi Sudeep,

The Business Partner relating to the object type Lead or Opportunity is known as a Prospect. Prospect is defined as a business partner interested in conducting business or by which such an interest is assumed. If a lead is turned into a opportunity, this same prospect is also transferred.

Wish this helps you

Hi Sudeep,

Business Partner is considred as Prospect when he shows some interest in supplier's product or services.

Role of BP remains Prospect untlill Opportunity phase of Sales Cycle. Once Opportunity is converted into inquiry/quotation Prospect gets converted to Sold To Party.

You do not need Sales Area data at Prospect level. You will have to check prospect check box of Classification tab page.

Pls go thru following link for understanding of classification.

hi there

when you see an opportunity in the market or business to be tapped,to process it further in your business via CRM,what you do is to assign the role prospect to the Business partner u created for that person

BP role prospect differntiates it with existing business partners ina way that it is a prospect adn after the entire qualification process inside the system takes place this prospect will either be an existing customer or if its not get qualified it will get deleted from the system

best regards
