I'm a newbiew with Crystal Reorts. I am using a strongly typed dataset that is filled in the datalayer of my application as the data source for a report. I would like to use the first letter of the last name to group names alphabetically in a dictionary like fashion. Can somebody point me to a method to accomplish this? Perhaps a custom function?
Thanks
Brad
I took a 30 minute snooze break and found it. I used a custom formula limiting the string that is the last name to the first letter.

I have a question.
I am building a report which has item number, unit price, quantity and total sales amount.
The problem is that I would like to group my report by item number. However, my item number are like this
002R-COACHBEL-00-32
002R-COACHBEL-00-34
AND SO FOR 36, 38
But because the item numbers are NOT unique number because of the last two numbers (sizes), how can I group them without taking in consideration the last two numbers?
Thanks
