Error when creating form in ESS/Portal

Hello experts please help!

I keep getting 'error when creating form' in ESS

we configured the payslip through PE51. I have done the below steps in PE03:

HRFOR - under MOLGA 54 i have maintained the return value as $CEDT$

EDTIN - under MOLGA 54 i have put the variant Z_ESS_PAYSLIP (however, we used a customized programme in place of PC00_m99_CEDT )

EDPDF - i retained the standard HR_ESS__PAYSLIP_TO_PDF (however when i check it under smart forms 'print preview' its blank)

Despite the above and different variations the error is still persisting and therefore the payslip and total compensation statement are not showing

Where am i going wrong? could it be the customized programme? i so, hw do i go about it?
