CRXI and Barcodes

Hi,

We have a report which print a barcode and when we execute the report from our java applñication using Crystal Reports Server XI the viewer is not showing the barcode. The only way to see the barcode is when we export the report to MS Word or Excel. But into the viewer and when you print or export to pdf, the barcode is not working.

We are using a free codebar font FRE3OF9X.TTF and other called w39h.ttf, this fonts are installed on server and client site.

Anybody knows how to fix this problem?

Thanks in Advande,

Xavier Buxade

There are a few things that can be the cause:

1. When viewing the report using the DHTML viewer, the view uses

fonts installed on the client machine, i.e., the machine on which

the web browser is running.

2. When viewing PDF file exported by the JRC, the PDF uses fonts

installed on the machine where the Acrobat Reader is running.

Note that the JRC does not embed or subset fonts, so the actual

font ttx files must be available on the OS where Reader is running.

The above means that the ttx font files must be installed on the

Operating System on the client machine - it's not sufficient to just

install them on the JRE, since neither Internet Explorer or Acrobat

Readers aren't Java applications.
