We are working with an Oracle database that has a text field of type LONG and using Crystal XI to report against it. However, Crystal brings only the first one or two characters of the LONG field into each row of the report. Is there any way to get the report to display the entire contents of the field?
When trying to print a field defined as a "LONG" data type in an Oracle database in a Crystal Report, you need to be using the "Microsoft ODBC for Oracle" driver to allow the entire contents of this "LONG" field to come through on your desktop PC. If your deploying your report in a production environment like Info Works then you will need to use the OLEDB Driver for Oracle.

We're encountering the same problem. The Oracle long fields get truncated after a couple of characters. We've ensured the ODBC connection has the 'force retrieval of longs' checked, but still no luck.

We are encountering the exact same problem with one of our projects. We have not yet found a solution either.
