Pls do let me know the best practices while doing development for WebI reports

I looked on the support site and found a few pieces of documentation that might be useful to you.

Go to http://support.businessobjects.com/documentation/product_guides/default.asp

Select "English", "Business Objects XI R2" and "Web Intelligence".

You will see a number of documents listed below. The ones that I think might be of interest to you are:

-Â Building Queries using the WebIntelligence Query - HTML

- Building Reports using the Web Intelligence HTML Report Panel

- Building Reports using the Web Intelligence Java Report Panel

If you are looking for help with code development I would suggest going to the Developer Library at http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/  and choose the 'Report Engine SDK' book.
