Problem with WeSelectCascadeExt

Former Member

<p>Hi,</p><p>we are using WeSelectCascadeext function in our report for three level cascading dropdown. The dropdowns are working fine and we are getting all the values in the cascading dropdowns.</p><p>But when we select some values in the dropdown and click on submit button to open the report again,we are getting only the selected values in the dropdowns and all the values in the downs disappear except the first level dropdown in which we are getting all the values.</p><p>Has anybody come across similar situation ? or is there anyway to maintain the values in the dropdown that were there in the first run?</p><p>Thanks in Advance.</p>

hello,

what you are experiencing is the normal behaviour of these functions.

in order to create a control where all of the values are present from the list (like you see before pressing the submit button) would require several more functions and arrays to be written out by webelements...this in turn would lead to less and less values being able to be used in the controls...webelements are crystal formulae and thus subject to a 64k formula output limit in crystal.

given that, webelements are opensource so if you're up to the task of customizing your function suite to have that ability then that would be an option.

cheers,

jw
