Can a field span full report page, across all details and groups

First of all, I am using Crystal Reports XI R2, the Developer upgrade on top of VS 2005 .NET CR. Not sure if that matters in this case.

What I want to do is have a field in a report that checks a value, and if that value is something, say X, it displays text - otherwise it displays nothing.

That part is not a problem, I can do that just fine.

BUT, I want that field to span the entire report page, over top of everything. Essentially like a layer, and be at the topmost layer.

Ideally it would rotate the text at a non-90/180/270 degree rotation (I would like diagonal from top left to bottom right).

Essentially I want to error check something on the page, and if it fails, I want to very visibly flag with text over the entire page so that nobody can miss it.

But I cannot figure out a way to get a field to span the whole page, including the details, groups, etc.

Is there a way to do this?

A side question would be, regardless of whether it can span, is there a way to more easily layer fields - as it is right now in the designer, whichever field is larger will swallow anything placed near it, so that if you try to click on the smaller one, you only get the larger one.

With the above field that I refer to, it is just getting in the way of everything and it is hugely annoying while designing.
