Hi,

We are in the phase of implemention of SAP and we have a user base of 20 who would be accessing the FICO module. Can some explain me how we would go abt to implement this, what would the hardware requirements and etc...

Hi,

You need to install SAP ERP to get access to FICO. You should be installing the SAP ECC 6.0 component of SAP ERP 6.0 (latest and greatest version). Installing SAP ERP will install all the necessary SAP NetWeaver technology. You can find the installation guide at http://service.sap.com/instguides.

After reading the installation and planning guide I would then start the sizing discussion. For sizing you should start with the "quicksizer" process at http://service.sap.com/quicksizer and pass the results on to your hardware partner.

hay thanks for the info,

once i have read the installation guide, can u please help with the sizing ..... what are the components that we have to consider while doing the sizing... please help

Hi,

For sizing I would suggest that you use the sizing tool (called quick sizer) which will guide you through questions on the business functionality that will be used in the system. You will need business experts (as opposed to IT only) to answer the sizing questions... i.e. "how many x postings per hour". The result of the sizing project you created will be a generic sizing in number of "SAPS" needed. SAPS are a standardized sizing unit that SAP's hardware partners are able to convert.

There is a second option for sizing - this is asking your hardware partner directly for their custom SAP sizing questionnaire. This will have very similar questions to the SAP quicksizer tool.

Here is what i need,....... currently at my client we have an implementation of FICO, where they are only using...Genreal Ledger... Now they require to add on the following components.....

1. Financial comsolidation

2. Internal Controls

3. Balanced Scorecard.

4. Financial Analyser, Sales Analyser

5. Financial Intelligence

6. Performance Analyezer

7. Activity Based Management

8. Enterprise Planning and Budgeting

9. Payables

10. Credit Management

11. Recivables

12. Bill Presentment Architecture

13. Advanced Collections

14. Loans

15. i Recivables

16. Assests

17. i Assests

18. Property Manager

19. Cash Management

20. Treasury

21. i Payments &

22. Internet Expenses

These are the following things that are needed to be implement. Know my question is do we have install the ERP6.0 again,or else do we need to reconfigure this.

At client we have NW 7.0 , ECC 6.0 , ERP 6.0 and the DB is MS SQL....

And now what are the requirements that i have to gather if required.....

Please help m
