Not assigned Serial Numbers

Hello,

How do I find out which serial numbers have not been assigned to any material?

My company is planning to assign serial numbers while issuing goods to production.

Thanks for replying. But IQ09 or IQ03 shows both serial numbers which have been assigned

to materials and also serial numbers which have not been assigned yet. I want a report which

only shows me the serial numbers which have not yet been assigned to the materials.

Please help me out with this issue.

When you say not assigned to materials, what exactly do you mean. If they are not assigned to materials, the universe is the limit for the serial numbers.

I want to see serial numbers which have been created (through tcode IQ01 or IQ04) but have yet not been assigned to the materials.

In my company we have to assign serial numbers to materials when receiving goods into stock from vendors and issuing materials to production.

If you have created the serial number through tcode IQ01, then the series will be continued and the Latest number will be seen in IQ09 trxn..

Apart from this you can not see the entire Serial Number range, As there is no limit for serial number range..

Try transaction IQ09. You can look for all serial numbers in your plant, and the list will show you material number and serial number combination.
