What is Valuation classes ??? how to define it ???

Hi,

Valuation class is a group of GL accounts.

In SPRO goto Materials management->valuation and account assignment->account determination->account determination without wizard->define valuation class.

here you can define valuation class.

In automatic account determination right GL account will be picked on the combination of Valuation class and Movement type.

Hi,

The valuation class enables assignment to accounts on a basis specific to the

material type and material. Example:7920 is the vlaution class for FERT material type and assigned through 0009 account catagory reference.Valuation Class play vital role in automatic account determination.

You can define valuation Class with t.code: OMSK.

You can assign valuation Class with material type through account catagory reference.

During creation of material , in accounting-1 view, u can enter ur valuation calss.

Hi,

Valuation Class is used for account assignment on the basis specific to the material type and material. It is a key element for automatic account determination process.

Material type assigned to account category reference through the valuation Class.

If material is valuated, you have to enter u201CValuation Classu201D in accounting-1 view during creation of material.

With out valuation class you can not use the material for different process and it is not possible to track the material by FI

Tcode OMS2 Trxn..

The stock values of materials of different material types to be posted to the same G/L Account.

Valuation Class

Valuation classes are used for automatic account assignment, ie to automatically determine the G/L accounts to be posted when a goods movement or invoice receipt happens.

The use of valuation classes is to post the materials with the same material type to different accounts and to post materials with different material types to the same account.

During the creation of a material, in the accounting screen we enter the valuation class and the postions for that material will happen to the corresponding accounts during goods movement and following activities

You can define the Valuation Calsses in Transaction OMSK or SPRO-> MATerails Management-> Valuation and Account Assignment-> Account Determination-> Account Determination Without Wizard-> Define Valuation Classes

Under valuation class, define the valuation classes for each account category reference

valuation class used for Assignment of a material to a group of G/L accounts

With other factors, the valuation class determines the G/L accounts that are updated as a result of a valuation-relevant transaction or event such as a goods movement.

The valuation class makes it possible to:

Post the stock values of materials of the same material type to different G/L accounts

Post the stock values of materials of different material types to the same G/L account

You can create new valuation classes in OMSK transaction .

The valuation class is a group of materials with the same account determination. If a transaction is to be posted to different accounts depending on the valuation class, create an account determination for each valuation class in the step Create automatic postings.

The valuation classes allowed depend on the material type. Several valuation classes are generally allowed for one material type. A valuation class can also be allowed for several material types.

The link between the valuation classes and the material types is set up via the account category reference.

The account category reference is a combination of valuation classes. Precisely one account category reference is assigned to a material type.
