Creating system specific master data

Consider following scenario:

Material master from 2 R/3 systems has to be consolidated. Both the R/3 systems has their specific fields which are not included in the MDM repository (as they are not global fields). A new material needs to be created in one of the R/3 system. First, the material will have to be created in MDM, syndicated to both systems and then system specific fields will have to populated in the relevant R/3 system.

1. Does the material have to be syndicated to all systems even if it is required only in one? Maybe, we can syndicate it to only one system, however, how do we keep track of which systems it is available in?

2. Customers usually do not want to enter system specific fields seperately (they want to provide all information in one go). Though we may accept the system specific fields in EP, we cannot write it directly to the R/3 system until the material is created and syndicated to the R/3 system by MDM.
